Interior Staircase Finishing: Wood and Paint

Project Overview

This project showcases meticulous interior staircase finishing, focusing on the surface treatment and coating of a residential wooden stairwell. First, the treads and handrails were sealed to preserve the light, natural wood grain. Following this, the risers, balusters, and structural newel posts were primed and painted in a solid white finish. Consequently, a clear visual distinction was established between the horizontal walking surfaces and the vertical support structures. Ultimately, high-quality interior staircase finishing requires careful masking and edging to maintain crisp, clean lines where the stained wood seamlessly intersects with the painted components.
